Karen Zilly, an arts professional for over 20 years, lives and works as an artist in New York City. Her work draws from nature, literature, Asian and Eastern culture, and a difficult past during which she could travel only within her imagination.
She blends that with her current real-life experiences of travel and city life; distilling sights, sensations and ideas into minimal yet captivating compositions.
Her work continues to gain recognition through private buyers, interior designers, and custom site-specific work. Some of her notable projects include custom work for Blesso Properties, Dwell's Harlem House, a contribution to a bedroom makeover by Thom Filicia for InStyle, and the 2010 juried MADE section of the Architectural Digest Home Design Show.
